Campeonato Brasileiro Interclubes Loterias Caixa de Atletismo Sub-23 played for the first time. Mato Grossofrom Friday (16/9) to Sunday (18/9), on the way to the Federal University Training Center. Mato Grossoif each, gathered 632 players from 128 teams, representing 25 states and the Federal District. Sorrisense Football Club (Asa Smile) participated in the competition with 14 athletes and brought the city a total of 5 medals, 02 gold, 01 silver and 02 bronze.
The highlight was Isabelle Cristina de Almeida winning gold medals in the 800 and 1,500 meters. With this result, she became the Caixa de Atletismo Sub-23 champion three times and is already guaranteed a place in the South American Cascavel tournament, on September 29 and 30 and October 1. Isabelle also teamed up with Ionane Linhares in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays and together they won two bronze medals.
According to the coach, Marcos Flademir, the meeting held in the state is an opportunity to show the strength of Mato Grosso in the field of athletics. “Like Isabelle, who won the third competition, where she added 6 gold medals in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 competitions. The player Asa is also the most outstanding player in the competition, in the women’s section. Isabelle is already in Brasília, the host city of the Brazilian University Games – JUBs 2022, where she will compete for another title, next Wednesday (21). The event took place from the 18th to the 28th of September.
The coach also showed the silver medal in the 100m race, which was won by Ionane, a young athlete (under 20 years old), who has already started to play well in sports. Ana Almeida and Lidiane Alencar, along with Ionane and Isabelle were bronze medalists, in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
Kauany Piovesam came 5th in the javelin throw. And the team composed of Marcos Vinicius, Mateus Oliveira, Geraldo Weslei and Ryam reached the 6th position in the 4 × 400 relay. “These results are very important for Asa and the players,” said the coach.
