The caipira salad features regional products from RN; see recipe | the great river of the north

Generally light and easy to prepare, salads can accompany a good meal or even be used alone as a meal.

On this Sunday of Intertv Rural (20), gastroenterologist Alexandre Dantas taught how to prepare a salad that contains vegetables and other ingredients, which is called ‘red salad’.

In this dish, the importance, in addition to vegetables, is on regional ingredients. It is called redneck salad because it takes other ingredients with the same name, such as a red hen’s egg and roasted walnuts, which in some regions are called red walnuts.

  • Different types of lettuce come out in the same amount as a large head of lettuce
  • 100 g tomatoes or about 15 cherry tomatoes or 2 normal tomatoes
  • 100 g or 1 small grated carrot
  • 50 g or equivalent to ½ cup of nut tea
  • 100 g or equal to 1 cup of curd cheese, cut into cubes
  • 3 free-range eggs
  • 2 orange juice
  • 1 lemon juice
  • Green chives (cilantro and chives), salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ small red onion, cut into slices
  • 40 ml or 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 10 ml or 1 spoon of honey

As with eating raw vegetables, the rule is to be extra careful when washing, to consume safe food.

And keep the curd cheese in the fridge and put it in the salad right when mixing and serving.

Open-ended chicken eggs must be cooked and kept aside.

Let’s start with the soup. In a container, add orange juice, lemon juice, olive oil, honey, black pepper, salt, green onion and red onion. Mix well and leave the sauce in the fridge for the flavors to blend.

Next, it is important to choose a large, shallow plate to mix the salad. The dish is first mixed with hand torn lettuce leaves. For this recipe, 3 types are used (2 curved types and one smooth).

After spreading the leaves that cover the whole base of the dish, add grated carrots, spread on the lettuce leaves. Next, cherry tomatoes are placed. In this recipe, half and whole tomatoes are used.

After that, boiled eggs are placed, broken in half. The arrangement of the contents of the event goes according to taste.

The next step is to spread the cheese. Then the nails. Some nuts are chopped and some are whole.

After this last step, the salad will be ready. Those who prefer can sprinkle the sauce over the whole salad or serve the sauce on the side and each person puts the amount he likes.
